COMPANY   PROFILE

 Sterling Service (Battoo Bros.) Limited (SSBBL) was established in 1947, and is currently the dealer for Mercedes-Benz and Skoda Auto. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Battoo Brothers Limited, a family owned company incorporated in 1940.

The Battoo Group of Companies has been operating since 1928, and over the years, established and operated  the  Bakal Bus Co., (1935 - 1956), Battoo Bros. Taxi  Service (1928 - 1982), Battoo Bros. Transport (Container haulage    1928 - present), Clark & Battoo Ltd. Funeral Directors and Embalmers ( 1953 - present) and Jodhan Associates Ltd. Construction    (1958 - present).

At the end of the 1994 financial year, total assets within the group of companies amounted to approximately TT $30 million.  Our investment portfolio included real estate to the value of TT $8 million and stocks and bonds to the value of TT $10.2 million.

SSBBL was first appointed dealers of Mercedes-Benz in February 1958 (over 37 years ago) and has sold over 1093 Mercedes-Benz vehicles.  Apart from its existing dealership, the company held agencies for Fiat, Rambler and Porsche.  Over the years, company personnel have gained valuable experience through their exposure to techniques and methodologies practised by these foreign companies.  In addition, in compliance with the majority of its agency agreements, the company was required to practise continuous quality improvement, through periodic training and upgrading of its equipment and tooling facilities as they emerged.  This was mandatory in order for us to support the wide range of models offered by Mercedes-Benz, and to keep abreast of the rapid technological changes in and upgrades to these models.
